About the Virginia Medical Review

The Virginia Medical Reviewpublishes works by and represents student writers in science and medicine across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Though the organization began at the University of Virginia in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, it now encompasses authors from Virginia Tech and Washington & Lee University. The Review's mission is twofold: firstly, to offer a creative forum for student science and medical writing. Secondly, to encourage the faculties of writing and communication in STEM and to assist its members in developing their skillset. In short, publication coupled with cultivation. Finally, the Review targets student readership, and seeks to present complex scientific topics in everyday terms.
